Northwestern University – Rogers House

Evanston, IL

2010

The Rogers House project is the renovation of a historic 1927 Tudor style student dorm at Northwestern University into a ‘green’ dorm per the interest expressed by the student body for such a facility. The project has earned LEED Gold certification and includes an upgrade in all major systems while maintaining the historic character of the original building. Work includes a natural ventilation system for all the rooms, ground duct fresh air intake, fully insulated exterior envelope, steam to hot water heating conversion, 100% new energy efficient lighting and the restoration/preservation of the original features such as terrazzo floor throughout, plaster ornament, and the natural stone façade.
