Two existing 1st floor classrooms and a gallery space at the school’s 280 Columbus Building are being converted into a general use four station Laser Cutting Lab and 2 Multi-Purpose Classrooms for the Sculpture Department. The spaces will be fully outfitted with a metal grid strut system for the hanging of equipment, work and a new, upgraded lighting system. In addition, the mechanical system has been redesigned to accommodate the heavy use of a large number of students as well as the appropriate exhaust for the laser cutters.
