Chicago, IL

Current

The New Mark Twain project is the renovation of a 58,000 sq. ft. 153 unit SRO building into permanent affordable housing with ground floor retail. The project meets the requirements of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency for Historic Tax Credits. The original hotel was built in 1932 and the Art Deco brick and terra cotta facades was restored as a part of the project.

The building was de-converted to 148 SRO units to provide private kitchens and bathrooms in all units, as well as handicap accessible units.
